Sean Doublesin - CEO

I have been working at GV Malta for over 10 years and through the times, I have taken up various responsibilities all of which have moulded me for my current position. GV has become part of my life, the staff are my second family and the students are my extended family. Over the years all members of GV have worked tirelessly to ensure that each and every student coming to Malta to learn English, have a unique and positive experience. These goals were achieved when I first started working with GV Malta and they continue today through the relentless efforts of all its members. Each week we look forward to welcoming new faces on our sun terrace and in our classrooms and truly hope that we will be seeing you with us as well.

Tamira Spiteri - Sales & Marketing Executive

Hello there! My name is Tamira and my role at GV Malta is to promote our lovely school and help prospective students with any information they might need before booking. I am half Maltese and half German, but I have lived in St. Paul's Bay my whole life. This makes me an expert on the area surrounding the school and I am always happy to help students with recommendations for nearby activities and restaurants. For this reason, I am also GV's go-to person for leisure activities all over Malta and Gozo. Outside of school, I am an avid foodie. That means that I love trying new and different types of meals from all over the world! However, no matter what, sushi will always remain my favourite dish of all time! I also love going to the beach and spending time in the sun with my friends. I'm looking forward to welcoming many more new students and sharing my love for Malta with each one of them!

Andrea B. - Operations Co-ordinator

Hi! I am Andrea and I am from Manchester, U.K., which is famous for football and the music scene. I came to live in Malta in 2013 and joined GV Malta as a receptionist in 2021. Outside of school I am an artist and paint and sketch to relax. Everyone who knows me says I smile and laugh a lot, and I am sure you will notice it too! I enjoy every day at school meeting students from around the world.

Laura P. - Registrations Co-ordinator

Hello! My name is Laura and I joined GV in 2018. Over the years, I have met so many interesting people here at the school, and I can't wait to meet many more! My passion is travelling, and I'm always planning my next trip. At GV, I process student bookings and assist my colleagues with a variety of tasks.

Shenagh Whittaker - Administration & Summer Camp Co-ordinator

If you want to learn or improve your English on this unique island, GV Malta is the school for you. I joined the dedicated GV-team in 2021 on the administration side, with particular focus on the GV summer camp. As the summer camp coordinator, I strive to ensure the smooth running of the camp alongside my colleagues, while giving our young students an unforgettable experience. I particularly love that no two days are the same! Originally from Southern Africa, I have been in Malta for 2 decades. Living on the Med calls for a simple life of sea, sunshine, good food and great friends, especially the furry four-legged ones. I look forward to seeing you after lessons walking along the splendid St. Paul’s Bay promenade or enjoying a swim in the sea.

Lina Paola Lopez - Receptionist

Hello everyone! My name is Lina and I am a receptionist at GV Malta. If you need help with information about our school or Malta I will be more than happy to help you! Since I moved to Malta a few years ago, I have fallen in love with this beautiful island. I really enjoy travelling and discovering foreign cultures. I would describe myself as a highly creative and empathetic person. See you soon!

Anna Doherty - Teacher

Hi, my name is Anna, and I started teaching at GV Malta in 2023. I am half Hungarian, half Irish, and was brought up in a family of educators. I have always been fascinated by different cultures and enjoy meeting new people. As a teacher, I find joy in helping others learn and discovering new things myself. When I'm not teaching, I like to practice yoga, read, and experiment with various delicious recipes.

Gabby Talarico - Teacher

Hi, I'm Gabby! I'm your typical Sagittarian - the ultimate traveller, passionate about what I do, caring and energetic. I was born in Wales, but I have visited and lived in lots of different places since then. I've visited Malta many times over the years, and since 2016 I have called this island my home. During my travels, I have learnt a foreign language, so I know exactly what it's like to be in our students' position! Teaching English and helping my students learn gives me great satisfaction and I do my best to give my all during lessons. When I'm not teaching or preparing lesson plans, you can find me volunteering at the local hospital. See you in sunny Malta!

Jeremy Mallia - Teacher

Hi, my name is Jeremy, and I'm from the same place our school is situated in - Malta! I enjoy reading, writing, cooking, and watching movies. I have a love for languages, and I became a teacher in order to help others find this same love within the study of English. Another reason I became a teacher is because I love meeting people from all over the world, and learning about other places and cultures. Helping others to attain knowledge and overcome their difficulties fills me with satisfaction, and my aim is to help my students through their journey in learning English.

Marielou Mifsud - Teacher

I started working at GV Malta in 2009. Since then I’ve met so many different students from all over the world. I have a passion for teaching, and I help students not only to become better speakers, but also to fall in love with the language. No teaching preparation programme can fully prepare you for the reality of the classroom, so I maintain a dynamic attitude that helps me to see opportunity in situations and circumstances. In October 2017 I was awarded the Inspiring Professional Award by the English Language Council, after being nominated by my colleagues.

Moya van Rensburg - Teacher

Hi, my name’s Moya and I’m originally from Cape Town, South Africa but I’ve been living in Malta for the past 10 years. When I’m not teaching my interests include reading, going to the beach, dancing, live theatre, classical movies and travelling. I also love learning about and teaching English. One of the highlights of my job is the opportunity it gives me to meet so many people from so many different cultures and to make so many new friends from all over the world. Nelson Mandela once said, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world’. It’s a privilege to be a part of that and helping people learn English.

Terry Carlisle - Teacher

Hi, I'm Terry. I was born in Ireland but I grew up in Scotland. I have also lived in London, France and Gibraltar. I've spent most of my career working in media and marketing but I decided to change direction and move to Malta to teach English. I really enjoy meeting new students and personalising the lesson according to their interests and hobbies. I find this makes the lesson more fun ... and a fun lesson is a good lesson, right? In my spare time I enjoy walking, swimming and watching movies. I can often be found sitting on the rocks watching the tide come in with Bailey (the dog!).

Wendy Steciuk - Teacher

I love swimming, reading, cooking, socialising with friends, travel, theatre, cinema, flowers, Laughter Yoga Teaching and am currently learning British Sign Language. I worked for nearly 40 years teaching in the UK, the last 13 years as a Headteacher of a high school in the north west of England. My Mother was English and my Father Ukrainian. I visit the UK when I can. What is it about teaching that I like? I love meeting students from all over the world. I started my teaching career as a Geography teacher, so each week I feel like I am on holiday visiting many different countries through my students. I love teaching at GV as we are very much a family school. We enjoy celebrating many different occasions with our students throughout the year. There is a great satisfaction in knowing that you have helped someone to improve their English and achieve their goal.

Bridget Xuereb - Housekeeper

Twenty years ago, I started working with foreign students. The reason is because I enjoy meeting new people. The students I meet at GV Malta come from all over the world and I’m interested in learning about new cultures and traditions. I like working here because this school is family – oriented and the atmosphere here is great.

Bailey - School Therapist!!

I was born in Malta in 2015. I am a miniature poodle, and my mummy cuts my hair. For a while I enjoyed time in Scotland playing in the wonder called snow and chasing foxes and squirrels, but now I am home playing under the sunny Maltese skies and swimming in the wonderful warm sea….I love swimming! GV Malta is my home away from home and I adore making new friends with students of all ages.
